Certificate Level Training for Existing Staff

Nationally Recognised Training
The Future Force nationally recognised Certificate III & IV programs are ideal for existing staff members who have been involved in the workforce for around 2-3 years and longer, and who are interested and motivated to participate in training and gain a valuable qualification. The qualifications available are "Certificates III & IV in International Freight Forwarding (TLI31309 & TLI41609)” & “Certificate III & IV in Transport & Logistics (Warehousing & Storage) (TLI30107 & TLI40107)”. In many cases both these Certificate qualifications can be achieved within the same course.

The content covers the required competency units from the Transport and Logistics training packages. For ease of delivery, these units are clustered into a set of 7 key modules delivered over a timeframe of approximately 15 x 2 hour sessions. The modules are freight forwarding oriented and so extremely relevant to everyday work activities. Examples of the module titles are (although the content may vary dependent upon the qualification):

Freight Documentation and Handling Customer Service Manual Handling and Dangerous Goods International Freight Calculations Teamwork & Leadership Quality Contract Procurement

The delivery methodology is flexible depending upon the needs of the individual employer, but a typical delivery schedule would be 1 x 2 hour group session per fortnight with follow up study/review sessions on the alternate weeks. That would result in approximately a 40 week duration.

These courses are delivered with assistance from the Federal Government and in Victoria, funding through skills Victoria, and as such may be completely cost neutral to the employer. Check with your local Future Force office for more detail.

Entry Level Training – Short Course (non-Nationally Recognised Training)

Future Force has several formal modules used to prepare alternate career trained individuals, or overseas freight employees requiring an update to local business practices for entry level employment, including: Introduction to Australian Freight Forwarding and International Supply Chains

• Introduction to Australian Freight Forwarding and International Supply Chains
• Import/Export Ocean Freight Operations
• Import/Export Air Freight Operations
• The Basics of Customs Processing

Students may choose to do one or all of these 3 hour modules, depending on their current level of expertise. Many International Trade and Business Diploma/Degree graduates have completed these modules and common feedback is that they obtain more practical information in 3 hours with Future Force than they did in a full semester at University.
